Indian Matrimonial Sites

By Samir Bajaj Indian Matrimonial Sites have been around for a long time but have gained popularity only of late. Their main function is to allow individuals or their parents to create a free profile for the intended groom or bride, and wait for prospective responses. Traditionally in the Indian culture this was accomplished, through news paper adds but now with the coming of the internet a lot of sites have cropped up catering to this market. These sites have taken on a dual purpose for Single Indians and their parents. Lets first take a look at how the person looking for match for him or herself views it. They post their add on one or more of these sites, with the aim of meeting and dating quite a few people before they decide on who they want to settle down with. The parents use in its traditional capacity which is to find matches for their son or daughter and then make a final selection very shortly after that. The dating and getting to know aspect is totally ignored by the parents and is supposed only take place after the couple has taken the final plunge. The interesting thing about this whole process , how the Indian youth of today are trying to satisfy their own modern views of dating and at the same time keep their traditionally minded parents at bay as well as pacified. How do they do this by informing their parents that they have joined a matrimonial site and are actively looking for a suitable mate for themselves. They in fact are dating quite a few people , an option that their parents would not usually tolerate. In essence they are getting the best of both worlds. The internet has been a god send for the Indian Youth of today. Miracle Glue and Wound Closure

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Martin_Jones] Martin Jones Have you ever heard of gluing a cut together? The first time I heard about this I was somewhat shocked. I was selling a product called Miracle Glue at trade shows. I had people telling all the outrageous stories possible about the origins of cyanoacrylates (superglue) - Miracle Glue is in the same category. The prevailing story was that superglue had been invented in the Vietnam era for soldiers. It was more effective than bandages in sealing up a cut or wound closure. I researched this pretty thoroughly and found that although these types of glues were used in Vietnam and later for suturing wounds, super glue was discovered much earlier. Cyanoacrylates were stumbled upon by a couple of gentleman at Eastman-Kodak in the 1940s then again in the 50s. These gentlemen were experimenting on scopes for rifles and cyanoacrylate was one of their mistakes. The first cyanoacrylates that were formed were ethyl and methyl. In the 1970s n-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate then 2-octyl cyanoacrylate were developed, the latter being approved by the FDA and marketed as such products as Traumaseal and Dermabond. The butyl and octyl being less irritating to the skin. The earlier ones will do the job just not as comfortably. I have had numerous people tell me that they have used all types of cyanoacrylates this way. Now, though my family is loaded with doctors, I am not one. Though I cannot advise one to use glue for this sort of thing, I can tell you some interesting stories that have been sent to me. Here is one from 3-4 years ago: “Sirs: I bought a little bottle of your Miracle Glue at a gun show in Portland back in June thinking from the demonstration that it would be a good thing to have when I was out hunting and fishing for all those instant repairs that seem to always come up. Well, it ends up that your little glue saved my trip. I would say life, but that would be a little too dramatic. I was on a solo fly-in canoe trip to Quetico Provincial Forest in Northern Ontario far north of the Minnesota Boundary Waters Canoe Area. I’ve been told many times I am crazy for flying in hundreds of miles alone and far from no where and no body, but sometimes I just feel like being alone with nature to get my world back in perspective. I grew up in such places so I feel totally confident of my abilities and besides, the fishing is great and the bears scare easily. I am four days out on a 10 day trip and spin casting a reed bed for trophy Northerns[Northern Pike]. My lure gets hit like a freight train and I finally fight the monster into my canoe. I am trying to snap a quick arms length picture to record the moment and release the trophy when the fish jerks out of my hand which is holding him by the gills and begins to go nuts in the bottom of the canoe. Things happen very quickly. I yank out the pliers and manage to get the lure out and as I am trying to settle the fish to release it I go to make my grab and it grabs me instead by the hand. I manage to hold it by the gills and twist my hand out (not fun, easy or pretty but luckily I had on heavy leather gloves) but now the fish is all tangled in my heavy line and all I want is this sucker out of my canoe. I yank out my filet knife and go to cut the back side of the line to toss it overboard. Just as I go to cut the line the fish thrashes out of my hand landing on my other hand forcing the filet knife across my left thigh and I can tell I’ve been cut pretty bad right away. Screw the fish, I bang him on the head with the handle of the boat oar and head back to camp. (I ate my fill and left his huge head on a broken limb of a pine tree.) When I get there I take a peak and there is a nice 7″ long deep slice right down the top of my thigh. Luckily, I keep my filet knife razor sharp so it is a clean straight cut. I am not relishing the thought consuming my weeks whiskey stock, boiling fishing line and doing a hand sew job on my leg. I remember reading something about medical use of glue and figure it is worth a try before a hack job self suturing. I take out the Miracle Glue I bought, clean up the wound area, dab it as dry as I can and then slowly glue the wound shut using some hemostats I use for removing hooks. It worked nicely and held the wound together. I dabbed some more and finished until the bleeding stopped. I waited and then added a thin line seal when done for extra hold. After, I covered it with gauze and kept it covered the rest of the trip. The wound didn’t get very infected and after the glue came off I just put an antiseptic cream on it for several days and even that went away. Great job with the glue, feel free to send me some more. Regards, Jeff J. Cyanoacrylate can be used for paper cuts, immediately closing the wound. I have also had several people tell me they have used it successfully when they get very dry skin and the skin on the ends of their fingers split. Put a drop on and by the time it wears off after a couple of days the split has sealed up. How to Spot an Online Dating Scammer

By Suzy Allen There are many scare stories in the media about people who got conned and ended up sending cash to people they met online. If youre new to online dating, though, it may be hard to believe that there are people out there who make a living out of abusing the system and scamming people out of money. Luckily, its actually quite easy to stay safe and avoid being scammed. Here is some useful information to refer to ensure a safe online dating experience. Too good to be true? As a general rule, if somebodys profile looks too good to be true, chances are it is. If you spend any time at all on dating sites, you will have seen them women who look like underwear models who describe themselves as God fearing, caring, loving and submissive. Their hobbies usually involves activities such as cooking and cleaning. The men describe themselves as honest and gentle and their pictures look just as posed. Their descriptions are usually full of lists of adjectives, obviously taken from a dictionary or a thesaurus, coupled with declarations of wanting to find true love. You may get messages from people like this, often using overly-affectionate terms straight away and declaring their undying love to you. Usually their level of English would be quite poor. Such messages sound like a dream, but sadly a relationship like that is more likely to turn into your worst nightmare. Be very wary. Underwear models and well-off businessmen/male models are not likely to act in this way both online and off! Never send money Not all scammers are as obvious as the ones detailed above. Unfortunately, with people becoming wiser, scammers have had to change the way they work. Nowadays, some of the pictures scammers use can look like perfectly normal people. The telltale sign is usually their actions. A scammer wants your money and sooner or later will try to get it off you by means of a sob story. Usual stories are of women trapped in hotels and needing to pay the bill before they are allowed to leave, stories about owing money to shifty businessmen and stories about wanting to come and meet you in your own country but not having any money. In all cases, its highly advisable to never send money to anyone youve just met online and be highly suspicious of sending money even a few months down the line. Report and ask for advice Any reputable dating site will have a moderating team in place who are there to keep the site safe. It is in their interest to keep scammers off the site. If someone has approached you and you are not certain whether he/she is a scammer, contact the site moderators and ask. They will not report your question to the other user, but have access to all of that users messages, so will be able to tell if the person has been working other people at the same time as you. They will also have more experience at dealing with scammers so would be able to spot them quicker. Be Cautious, be reasonable Sometimes when you have been chatting to the person you think is your perfect match, its easy to ignore the warning signs and refuse to believe this person is trying to con you out of money. This is why you should take extra care and listen to the advice of someone impartial. Its better to learn the bad news before you part with your money and not after. Arthritis - New Hope from Green Tea

By Kevin Woodward As anyone who has — or knows someone who has — Rheumatoid Arthritis, it can prevent the sufferer from leading a normal life. It is a condition of unknown cause that can vary in intensity from a short, self-limiting illness to a long term, progressively worsening illness. Initially, treatments are light, aiming to remedy joint stiffness and inflammation. In the chronic cases, the inflammation can become worse, requiring a whole range of treatments including steroids, joint replacement and fusion ok bones. The joints of the body can become deformed and strength dwindles, leaving the sufferer unable to open even a bottle of milk or turn on a tap. You have good days and you have bad days. “You are what you eat” is a clich, but very true. Certain foods are thought to exacerbate Rheumatoid Arthritis, for example, dairy produce. Rheumatoid arthritis occurs predominantly in developed countries where a large part of the diet is animal and the aforementioned dairy produce. Even if someone is only mildly allergic to dairy, this can cause antioxidant levels to fall, antibodies are produced in response and these, for whatever reason, attack the joints. So keeping a diary of foods may help to pinpoint what triggers the bad days. So, if food seems to be the trigger, reducing dairy foods and increasing antioxidants in your diet may help. But how to get more antioxidants? The tastiest ways are probably to eat plenty of fresh vegetables and drink a few cups of green tea each day. Why is green tea better than ‘normal’ tea? The tea that most westerners are used to is black tea. Whilst that is a better for you than coffee, it is not as beneficial as green tea. The reason? Black tea has been fermented; green tea has not, thus leaving the key chemicals intact. But what evidence is there that green tea can actually benefit Arthritis sufferers? Studies in mice suggest that green tea antioxidants may have a powerful effect in reducing the incidence and severity of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Polyphenols (antioxidants found in green tea) possess much more potent antioxidant activity than well-known antioxidants such as vitamin C and vitamin E. A research team from Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio has focused on the effect of these polyphenols in Rheumatoid arthritis. Mice studied by the Cleveland researchers were fed either plain water or water enriched with green tea polyphenols. The doses were about equivalent to a human drinking 3-4 cups of green tea per day. Each of the mice was then injected with collagen, making them vulnerable to a condition very similar to human Rheumatoid Arthritis. The study indicated that the mice who had been given the green tea polyphenols “were significantly less susceptible to the development of collagen-induced arthritis, and if they developed arthritis, the disease was late in onset and mild in comparison to mice not given green tea polyphenols”. (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences 1999;96:4524-4529). There are other benefits too - in another study in the US it has been shown that drinking at least one cup of green tea per day can reduce the risk of heart attack by 44%. This health benefit is thought to come from flavanoids, a type of antioxidant found in all types of tea. Flavanoids are thought to neutralise the effect of free radicals, highly reactive molecules that travel round the body causing damaging chemical reactions to cells, including those in the heart tissues. A previous Dutch investigation of more than 800 men between 65 and 84 showed that drinking even more tea - between three and four cups a day - decreased risk of death from coronary heart disease by 58%. In 1991 there were just 153 studies on tea, while in 1998 there were 625 published papers. In a Japanese study, tea without sugar has been found to be good for teeth and gums. Tea contains tannin fluoride which appears to help prevent plaque. “An increase of just one cup a day could prove invaluable in the fight against gum disease,” said the British Dental Health Foundation Kevin Woodward looks after the In Nature web site at http://www.in-nature.com/teas/ which offers top quality Chinese teas and herbs for sale securely online. Memberships are available which entitles you to discounts on the products and a free health consultation, the latter is based on traditional Chinese medicine. Unsecured Loans UK - Avail Finance without Any Risks

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Maria_Smith]Maria Smith You may not be having a property under your name, but should that be an impediment if you are applying for a loan? Not at all if unsecured loans UK is applied for. Though unsecured loans are risky but providers of unsecured loans UK have enough experience to understand the needs of a borrower like tenant. They have designed the loan in such a way that an easy access is ensured to the borrowers. Usually tenants, students or any non-homeowner opts for unsecured loans provided for the people of the UK. This is because unsecured loans UK are approved without taking any property of the borrower as collateral. This suits well to tenants or non-homeowners. However the unsecured loan is equally open for homeowner as they may not be willing to risk property for a loan. As some risks are there for the lenders, unsecured loans UK have a slight disadvantage. Unsecured loans UK are a little costlier as interest rate is higher. The lender has to cover for the risks and therefore they tend to charge higher interest rate. Still a good comparison of different lenders interest rates can enable you in availing comparatively lower interest rate in highly competitive loan market. The amount offered under secured loans UK is kept smaller in the range of 1000 to 25000 which usually is enough for meeting a tenants requirement. The repayment duration also is shorter ranging up to 10 years. But loan amount and repayment duration depends a lot on credit history and financial standing of the applicant. Good credit score and sound annual income surely is way to favorable terms for the loan seeker. But that does not mean that bad credit borrowers are denied the loan. Tenants or non-homeowners having bad credit are also approved unsecured loans UK. Bad credit borrowers should show repayment capacity that includes annual income to the lender and a repayment plan in place will be enough to convince the lender for offering the loan to you. Instead of rushing to a particular lender, better compare interest rates and terms-conditions of different lenders for a beneficial deal. Apply online to the suitable lender for fast processing and approval of unsecured loans UK. Unsecured loans UK enable a tenant or non-homeowner in taking finance without collateral. Surely the loan is a great help to such borrowers but make sure to pay off loan installments in time for escaping debts as higher interest rate is involved. Maria Smith has not been writing articles from the beginning. But the increase in perplexing loans information has urged her to write on different loans types. The Ultimate University and College Freshers Guide Part 2 - Eating on a Budget

By Mike Ha You have made it through freshers week at university or college relatively unscathed. So whats the next hurdle in student life? Well trying to feed your self on a budget can be a daunting prospective never mind actually cooking. The main advice is eating is essential! You may think that you can survive on booze and coffee but eventually youll be ill. Food for many of you will be something that you have just taken for granted. You come home from school/college/work and there is a dinner waiting for you, you get up in the morning and there is cereal in the cupboard and milk in the fridge. So feeding yourself may come as a bit of a shock when you first arrive at University or College. You may think you can get by with biscuits and take-away but, depending on how flush you are, you will eventually run out of money and have to cook. But, fear not, because the following pages contain some fantastic advice on how to eat on a budget. Shopping Students pride themselves on knowing where to buy the cheapest beans, bread and margarine. You may think students eating beans on toast is a bit of a clich but this is just about the cheapest way to fill yourself up. Look for value, smart price or no frills ranges they dont taste quite as good as the leading brand but they dont cost anywhere near the same. Find out when your local supermarket closes! Because just before it closes they will be selling off stock that expires that day on the cheap. Also get to know where the specials are in your local and buy these as often as you can. It pays not to be too fussy when it come to food. Dont go shopping with a set idea of what you want to eat, make a list of the basics you need and then be flexible with the rest buy what is cheap! That way your diet is varied. Utensils Jamie Oliver may have a kitchen full of pans, knives, funky crockery, whisks, spatulas, mandolins and blowtorches but students dont & you dont need them! You can get by with a heavy frying pan, a saucepan, a stirring spoon, a spatula, a chopping board, a sharp knife, a bread knife, 2 big plates, 2 sets of cutlery, 2 large mug (large enough for serious cups of coffee or for a whole can of soup), 2 large wine glasses, 2 pint glasses, a salt grinder and a pepper grinder. This shouldnt cost much, well within your student budget Basics: Having these things in you cupboard all the time will mean you can always make a meal in a hurry! Flavourings: Sugar, salt (preferably sea-salt), pepper (as in peppercorns), garlic, chilli powder, coriander, mixed herbs and stock cubes (selection). Consumables: Rice, pasta (shapes and spaghetti), bread, potatoes, onions, tinned tomatoes, tinned beans, tinned spaghetti, tinned soup, tinned tuna, tinned anchovies and tinned meat. Fresh stuff: Carrots, cabbages, mushrooms, tomatoes, lettuce and courgettes. Fridge stuff: Cheese, margarine, Philadelphia, orange juice, beer, wine, vodka Freezer stuff: Pizza, pies, chicken and frozen veg. Cooking Buy a good cookbook! Jamie Olivers Happy days book is full of simple, comforting and quick dishes that are ideal for students, But unless you are Jamie Oliver or Delia Smith, start off with simple dishes and gradually learn what works and what doesnt. Some flavours naturally go with some meats, chicken and lemon for instance but some combinations really dont work beef and lemon is a good example of a revolting combo! Pasta is a freshers and students staple and goes with almost anything and is cheap and quick, but you will end up Over dosing on it! If it doesnt go with pasta then it will go with rice! Meat is expensive, so use lots of veg, which is also good for you, to bulk out your meals. Soups can make very good pasta sauces or bases for stews. Salads are very easy, very quick and very healthy. Also if youre a fresher with culinary or artistic flair they can look like youve been slaving over them for hours. Roasting meat is a very good way of cooking food. It allows you to put your dinner in the oven and then retire to a comfy chair with a bottle of whatever but be careful not to get too drunk and forget the food is in the oven! If any meals are included in the price of your accommodation try to get to them. If the food is bad then get it changed if they only serve breakfast till 8 oclock then get the times changed. You are paying for a service so make sure the service works for you! Finally, whatever your approach to cooking and eating at University, try new things. There will be people from all different backgrounds, regions and countries and they will be eating all manner of different things. Try them! University and college is a learning experience and not just in the academic sense. And finally students have come across, as you will, some incredibly bizarre eating habits at University and college. Here are some of the strangest. A student who ate this everyday and nothing else! 1 bowl of corn-flakes, semi-skimmed milk, a roast chicken, salad, hallumi cheese and diet coke he ate this for 3 years without change! One girl fresher who ate only apples, biscuits and crisps for an entire first year The student who lived on cuppa soup and lived. provided by http://www.thestudentzone.com International student community and lifestyle site which features advice university & college listings FREE Web mail FREE Chat Rooms & Competitions. also see http://www.thestudentzone.com/catlisting.php?CountryID=1&CategoryID=62 Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Mike_Ha http://EzineArticles.com/?The-Ultimate-University-and-College-Freshers-Guide-Part-2—Eating-on-a-Budget&id=241808

The Natural Properties of Hoodia Gordonii

By Jeremy Hansen Hoodia is a new natural diet pill taking the world by storm. With all the hype you would be forgiven for thinking that Hoodia was as good as plastic surgery. As you will find out, although its’s not quite the case, Hoodia does certainly have some qualities that make it a consistent winner in the fight against the flab. It can be hard those looking to shed some unwanted pounds. Those who don’t understand say things like “Just exercise you lazy thing”, or “If you’d stop eating that XYZ (fill in the blank), I’m sure you’d lose weight, when in fact that really isn’t the case. Many studies are now coming to reveal that diet and exercise often aren’t enough in the quest to lose large amounts of weight. Extra, third party assistance (such as Hoodia) is not only beneficial but in some cases can be a necessity to fast and lasting weight loss. So what do you do rather than losing weight? Basically there are two options. Prescription Medicines There is no doubt that prescription drugs can be effective and the best of those (you might have heard of Adipex or Bontril) can provide quick results. However there are a few setbacks to prescription medicine that are the reason for NATURAL products like Hoodia to be growing so rapidly in popularity. Firstly Prescription diet pills generally come with much stronger and much more frequently occuring side effects, as they are chemical based. Natural Products like Hoodia overcome this problem as they are comprised of Natural Ingredients some of which can be found in the every day diet. Other ingredients, although natural are very rare and are said to have been discovered centuries ago in the extracts of the Hoodia Plant. Not only do the side effects increase for prescription medicines but the price also sees a large jump. Because they require no medical prescription, natural supplements like Hoodia can be obtained much more conveniently and at a much lower price, starting from just $80 per bottle. All in all, as testing continues Hoodia is proving to be a trusted way to lose some unwanted poundage without the hassle of prescriptions, the price of tough drugs and WITH the benefits of Natural, fast and effective supplements. Gary Stephens is a writer on weight loss supplements and runs an informational website dedicated to the discussion of the new weight loss solution Hoodithin. Ribbon Rosette History - A Short History And Definition Of A Ribbon Rosette

By Carly Pope The making of ribbon rosettes dates back to the 8th/9th century, where many examples have been found. The rosette rays depicted the moons and planets, and an example of which is the bronze Piliska rosette. Rosettes`have been manufactured in a variety of materials including cotton, wool, metal and lace and were usually worn as a badge of distinction or as a decoration on shoes. A Rosette can be defined as a badge award or decoration made in coloured ribbon to resemble the form of a rose or a rose shaped ornament on a wall or other surface or a naturally occurring cluster of leaves radiating from a central point, especially at the base of a stem or any rose shaped structure arrangement or figure. In order to make a ribbon rosettes many components are needed. These include: a backboard (made from thick card or paper, pleated ribbon (usually satin acetate) a centreboard (again made from a thick card), ribbon tails and a fastenings (safety pin, bridle clip etc.) The ribbon is pleated to form the rosette tiers which are attached to the backboard to form the ribbon rosette head. The tails are swallow cut and along with the specified fastening are attached to the head using the pre-printed centreboard. Rosettes are nowadays awarded for many events including horse shows, dog shows, and cattle shows. They are also worn by many political candidates as a representation of their party, and by football fans to show their support for their favoured team. Types of Depression

By Shezz P Depression is one of the most common mental illnesses with 10-15% of people suffering from depression at some stage in their lifetime. The general symptoms of depression include irritability, difficulty to concentrate, feelings of guilt or helplessness, reduced appetite, anxiety, loss of interest in activities and personal appearance, difficulty sleeping, difficulty getting up in the morning, constant tiredness, lack of energy, changes in weight and headaches. Most people are aware of common depression, however depression has different types which I have summarised below: Major Depression Major depression is the most common form of depression and most people will probably know somebody that suffers from it. Major depression will have the symptoms listed above. Depression symptoms may vary from person to person so not everyone will suffer all of the symptoms. The person will lack interest in most activities and be saddened with the thought that they will never pull out of these feelings and will always remain in this hopeless state. Of course the more the person thinks this way the more depressed they become. Atypical Depression Atypical depression is slightly different from major depression. Someone suffering from Atypical depression will not always be depressed but will sometimes have feelings of happiness and elation. Symptoms are similar to major depression and include weight change, fatigue, oversleeping and overeating. Sufferers believe that their moods are controlled by outside events such as praise, attention, success. Atypical depression episodes can last for month and some people may suffer from it forever. Psychotic Depression People suffering from Psychotic depression will imagine they hear or see things that aren’t actually there. They may hear voices or sounds and see visions that don’t exist to anyone but them. These hallucinations are more common to someone suffering from schizophrenia. A person with Psychotic depression has hallucinations that are frightening and threatening, negative sounds and images. Dysthymia Dysthmyia is a condition that sufferers don’t even know they have depression, it is just a daily part of their lives and always has been. People suffering from Dysthmyia are people that are simply sad, blue, always depressed but for them it is completely normal and are not aware of it. They go through life feeling unimportant, frightened, dissatisfied and simply don’t enjoy life. Post Partum or Post Natal Depression Depression that occurs either during or within a year after pregnancy is called perinatal depression. Perinatal depression is a very common form of depression and a large number of women will experience it. This type of depression can sometimes be hard to diagnose as there are a lot of changes going on within our bodies during and after pregnancy anyway. Some signs of perinatal depression are tiredness, changes in body weight, emotional changes and problems sleeping, but these also occur during pregnancy without necessarily having depression. Manic or Bipolar Depression Manic depression can be defined as an emotional disorder characterized by changing mood shifts from depression to mania which can sometimes be quite rapid. Every individual with bipolar disorder has a unique pattern of mood cycles, combining depression and manic episodes, that is specific to that individual, but predictable once the pattern is identified. Effective treatment is available for bipolar disorder. Without treatment, marital breakups, job loss, alcohol and drug abuse, and suicide may result from the chronic, episodic mood swings.
