The Secret To Permanent Weight Loss

By Kathy Thompson AND SAVE MONEY IN THE PROCESS. The secret is simple and basic. Just three little words — DON’T BUY IT! If you don’t buy it, you won’t eat it. If you don’t eat it, you won’t get fat. So your problem starts at the store or restaurant. Since your diet starts at the store, were you ever taught how to shop for food? Probably not. The grocery store can destroy your diet and get into your pocketbook . First you need to check the layout of the store, —where everything is. Leave the produce for last, so it will be as fresh as you can get it. REMEMBER: 70% of the products are there just to take your money. Notice how many rows they have of soda, cereal, and snacks. Look what they’ve done to the potato–instant potatoes, mashed potatoes, french fries, tater tots, shoe string, chips, twice baked. Notice the shelves along the aisles. Everything is conveniently displayed close to your reach–a ploy by the store to buy those products. On the lower shelves are products aimed at kids. Look lower or higher, and you will find the same products–for less. If nature didn’t make it, you don’t need it. Stay away from processed and imitation foods. Try to stay away from canned food (you never know what’s in the can). Stick with the fresh & frozen foods. Check out the PACKAGES carefully. That box or package may not be full. 1 -Solids are measured by weight– ounces, pounds. . 2 -Liquids are measured by volume– gallon, quart, pint. 3- Price -5% of the price for the product is for the product it itself. 95% of the price is for; packaging, manufacturing, transportation, middlemen, salaries, insurance, utilities, etc. Let’s say a gallon of milk cost $2.00. The milk is 10 cents, the rest is $1.90. According to the FDA, LABELS must be specific and truthful. If the label says “Kraft Pasteurized Processed Cheese Food,” it is not cheese. If it says “Breakfast Orange Drink”–it is not juice. Check out the nutritional values, particularly fat—stay away from saturated fat. INGREDIENTS must be listed in dominance order. If sugar or water is listed first, it is mostly sugar or water. The last ingredient is least significant. Anything after salt is of little use. Do you know what those ingredients are? Can you pronounce them? And you want to feed this to your family? COUPONS are a gimmick to get you to buy something you don’t need in the first place. Save 50 cents on chips, when you can save $3 if you didn’t buy it. Do you ever find coupons for REAL food? Marketers know you need the basics. Nature didn’t make snickers, it made nuts. Nature didn’t make chips, it made potatoes. Nature didn’t make soda pop, it made water and juice. Nature didn’t make wieners, it made fish. Nature didn’t make Snickers, it made raisins. Nature didn’t make fritoes, it made corn. Our society is food oriented. On every corner there is a restaurant, fast food, and everything in between. You are bombarded with ads from the media. Your body knows what it needs. It knows when to stop eating apples, not candy. Once you start eating Mother Nature’s diet you can lose weight, and feel much better about yourself Listen to your body. Add exercise to your lifestyle, and you can add years to your life. Do something every day, even if its walking, climbing stairs, playing with the kids. A good exercise program should include aerobics (running, swimming, jump rope, fast dancing), endurance (working with weights), and flexibility ( calisthenics, yoga). Your body was meant to be used, not abused. You deserve it. The Power of ‘because…’

By Robert Abbott “Do it!”, “Do it now!”, or “Do it because…” Which of these commands is most likely to get the response you want? If you picked the third, the one that includes ‘because’, you’d be right. Of course, if you’re a parent, aunt, or uncle you may know that already. The idea behind ‘because…’ is to provide an explanation or rationalization for the request you’re making. In other words, the command or request is not just an arbitrary exercise of power on your part — it’s a reasoned request or command. In a broader sense, ‘because’ provides context, which we’ve often discussed in this newsletter. Context provides a framework for specific communication. For example, “Please review this contract before we mail it out, because a mistake could cost us thousands of dollars.” A number of Internet entrepreneurs report they’ve tested the use of ‘because’ in their advertising copy and found it worked. I’ve used it myself on the home page of Abbott’s Communication Letter http://www.abbottletter.com/ where visitors are invited to subscribe. I haven’t tested to see whether or not it makes a difference. But I do know it helps in the copy writing process. It helps because it pushes me to make a connection between an action and a consequence of that action. For example, “Wear a helmet when you ride your bike, because it will help you avoid head injuries if you fall.” In this case, wearing a helmet is the action; avoiding a head injury is the consequence. One more thought: the word ‘because’ does not always have to be explicit. It can be implicit or implied, as in “Wear a helmet when you ride your bike, so you won’t injure your head if you fall.” Let’s consider a few more examples, from various functional perspectives. Suppose you’re a librarian and you want to encourage patrons to expand their reading horizons. So, you post a sign in the Historical Fiction area that reads something like this: “The story here is only half the story. Visit the History shelves, too, and enrich the stories you find here.” The action: look in the History section, as well as the Historical Fiction section. The consequence: you’ll learn the story behind the story, enriching your reading of the fictitious stories. How about a sales example? If you send a sales letter, do you focus on product features and ignore the benefits your readers will reap (believe me, I see a lot of these letters)? If you use ‘because’ with each feature– explicitly or implicitly — you’ll force yourself to list benefits as well as product features. Compare these two pitches: “Now featuring keyboard water coolers with two-gallon capacity!” and “With the two-gallon keyboard water cooler, your keyboard will never overheat, no matter how fast you type.” In summary, using the word ‘because’ in your message will help you write more persuasive copy and help your readers understand why they should respond to you. Midlife Marriage - Love It Or Leave It?

By Sheryl Kurland In the U.S., in 2000, the most recent year for which good data is available, the most-divorced age groups were men and women between the ages of 45 and 54 years old. Almost 15% of men and 18% of women in that age group were divorced. About another 2.4% of men and 3.1% of women were separated. The groups on either side 35 to 44 and 55-64 were tied for second highest in both separated and divorced categories. As these figures show, midlife divorce has become a startling trend. Americans Are Not Alone In Canada, the weekly magazine Mcleans recently reported a similar surge in midlife divorces. Between 1993 and 2003, the latest year for which statistics are available, the countrys overall divorce rate fell by more than 11 %. However, divorce among 50-54 year olds rose 34%, 55-59 year olds jumped 47.8%, 60-64 year olds increased 31.7 %, and 65+ years of age increased 9.2%. Statistics in the UK reflect a similar trend. While the overall number of divorces per 1,000 married people increased 2.4% from 2000 to late 2005, for ages 35-44 the divorce rate rose 12.9% (to almost 22 divorces per 1,000 married people), and for ages 45+ the divorce rate climbed 19.2% (to 6.2 per 1,000). No country has been more galvanized by midlife and later divorce than Japan. The number of divorces among couples married for 20 years or more hit 42,000 in 2004, double those recorded in 1985. What happened between I do and I dont anymore? Triggers of the unraveling marital bond at midlife are varied and many: Shift in social attitude toward marriage and divorce, and the legal ease of getting a divorce. Increased longevity and attention to personal happiness. At 45, people are now facing another 40 years with their spouse rather than 20 or so a few generations ago. They dont want to spend decades more in misery. Financial independence of women due to successful careers. Economic affluence provides self-assurance and fewer fears about going it alone. Children have flown the coupe. Couples who stayed together for the sake of the kids now have the freedom theyve been waiting for to split. Onset of double menopause. For both men and women, passage into midlife can stir an emotional rollercoaster. Spouses simultaneously struggling with aging may take out their inner turmoil on each other in the form of resentment, frustration and rejection. Verbal, physical or emotional abuse, differences in values and lifestyles, cheating, and alcohol or drug abuse. Emotional … Economic Effects of Divorce Those who think divorce will provide relief, should consider the potential pain, too. Healthwise, the stress of divorce diminishes effectiveness of the immune system and therefore, increases illness. Headaches, back pain and arthritis are more prevalent. Entry back into the dating scene and pursuance of multiple sex partners heightens risk of sexually-transmitted diseases. The emotional devastation increases the likelihood of psychological disorders, such as depression, and drug and alcohol abuse. Divorce, job loss and illness top the list as the most common causes of personal bankruptcy, with divorce often being the catalyst of the other two. Divorce can disrupt the job productivity of an individual for years. Higher absenteeism and presenteeism (being physically there, but mentally checked out), poor morale and moodiness, and inability to focus contribute to work problems. Interruptions due to meetings with attorneys, court dates, relocation, and the like, also hamper functioning. The financial bill is also hefty. The average cost of divorce in the U.S. is estimated by Forbes to be $15,000 to $30,000. Court fees can add $25,000 for a two-day trial. A study by Ohio State University ’s Center for Human Resource Research found that divorce reduces a person’s wealth by 77% compared to that of a single person. Marriage Resuscitation Todays the couple next door got divorced so it must be OK mentality leads many others to conclude that ditching their union is the only choice. Contrary to perception, marriage resuscitation at midlife is a viable option. For a couple whose marriage has hit this juncture, the following eight pointers will help get the process underway: 1. Accept that neither of you are exactly the same person as when you married. Experiences and events change us. Attempting to recapture what once was is futile. The relationship, much like a faltering business, has to be restructured to meet each others needs today. 2. Get to know each other again. In the busyness of life, spouses forget to focus on each other. Jobs, professional commitments, community activities and other obligations pull couples apart. To counter the tug-of-war, just as you schedule meetings for these responsibilities, make appointments to be together and re-connect. 3. Look in a mirror. Would you marry you? When a relationship hits the skids, natural inclination is to blame the other person. Instead, take a good, hard look at yourself. Do you still make an effort to look attractive (not to be confused with being skinny)? Are you proud of who you are? Do you have a healthy sense of self-worth? If you cant answer yes to these questions, theres work to be done. 4. Peel back arguments to identify their roots and modify how you handle your differences. When a dispute is stripped down to its core, its often discovered that the squabble was precipitated due to one spouse possessing a strength where the other has a weakness. The person with the strength has more knowledge, information, experience, skill/talent or education than his/her mate on the subject of the disagreement. A strength pit against a weakness turns into a fight. Rather than function in opposition, re-program yourselves to blend your differences. 5. Dont stick to the same old patterns, routines and habits. Predictability causes monotony. Sit down together and list the boring stuff. Then brainstorm new ways to do those things, creating a new list to spice up the relationship. 6. Create a couple tradition. Family traditions are commonplace, but what about traditions for just the two of you? Traditions can add excitement to a relationship, serve as an anchor, and provide glue for the union to remain sturdy when the going gets rough. Establish one or more traditions to make your relationship special year after year. 7. Love the one your with. Observations at the office, gym, social outings and elsewhere may lead you to believe that others are having all the fun. Dont be fooled. How many times have you seen the couple who seemed to have it all wind up in divorce court? Rather than wallow, devote mental energy to rekindling the romance between you and your mate. 8. If you seek professional help, do so with a positive attitude. For marriage counseling to have a chance of success, a couple must start with the proper outlook. Think How can we revitalize our marriage? not Should we get a divorce? Taking action to transform a marriage that has fizzled into a renewed source of joy and pleasure requires time and patience. In the process, each spouse is likely to discover incredible strengths within themselves and the relationship. With steadfastness and perseverance, theres high probability that a couple will come out of the journey amazed to have opened a new world of opportunities with their marriage not only intact, but better than ever. Marketing Planning with some Wisdom from Uncle Marty

By Gaetan Giannini A strong marketing plan needs to start with a clear understanding of the Vision of your company or business unit. Marketing is a powerful tool when used properly, but it will not get you anywhere unless you know where you want to go. Therefore the first step in your planning exercise is to establish a Vision for your organization. You can define Vision as what you want your business to be in 1, 2 and 5 years with respect to sales, image, products, customers and staff. From this point you need to set some Vision oriented goals. These goals can be very simple, but should be written. Examples are sales in units or dollars, sales growth, profit, change in image, number of leads generated, changes in customer satisfaction, etc. Next comes the tactical plan. That is, what are you going to do? Advertising, direct marketing, PR, promotions, etc. Write them down with some expectation of what they are to accomplish and who is responsible for doing each activity. Infrastructure improvements follow. Tracking systems, the creation of a sales process (Create image & interest, get leads, and make sales), training, sales & distribution channels and location are all areas were the marketing function might find improvement. Now create a timeline. What is going to be done, when and by whom? This can be done on a spreadsheet or written on a chalk board I conference room. It really doesnt matter how it its recorded, just make sure that this is done, and review it once a month. Dont panic if the timeline starts to change. As a matter of fact you should start getting concerned if it never changes. The timeline as well as the entire marketing plan is a fluid entity and it will change over time. Things will get pushed back, some will get completed ahead of schedule, others will get deleted before they get started and new items will be added. As long as all of this is done in a deliberate, intelligent manner change is good. Finally create and use metrics. Use your vision-oriented goals to create measurement criteria that will gage the success of the plan and its implementation. When all is said and done, no one marketing activity is terribly difficult to accomplish. Likewise, no single activity will make or break an organization. It is the continuous cycle of learning, thinking and doing that makes the difference between long-term success and failure. Uncle Marty Everyone has an uncle they like to tell stories about. I am no exception. My uncles name is Marty, and he just happens to be an accomplished sales and marketing professional. Despite the fact that we do discuss our common profession when we get together these days, I want to share something I learned from Uncle Marty when I was a kid. You see, Uncle Marty taught me how to ski, and two of the things he taught me apply in the world of marketing as well as in life in general. Lesson one: Keep your knees bent and stay out of the woods. Its obvious how this advice would come in handy while skiing. Keeping our knees bent teaches us to stay flexible, and adapt to our terrain. In marketing as with skiing we will have our steep slopes, bumps, and icy patches, and flexibility enables us to keep our balance and continue to move forward. Those who are rigid crash. Staying out of the woods is common sense safety. In marketing this principal teaches us that companies have distinct paths cut out before them, and we need to take the company where it is meant to go. Thats not to say we should not take risks (after all skiing itself is a risky endeavor) but our risks should play to the strengths of our organization. Lesson two: If youre not falling down, youre probably not trying hard enough. There is no set formula for marketing. It is a long-term experiment in which we use the information available to us, make the best decisions we can and see how it works. We then use the results of that experiment to improve our next effort and so on. When we do this we will fall down from time to time and make a marketing mistake, but using this method allows to continuously improve our marketing, and it helps prevent us from getting blind sided by unexpected changes in the market. How Safe is a Weight Loss Patch?

By Kenny Yong The use of weight loss patch might not sound pleasing to you but for other people, weight loss patch is their way to an ultimate dream of being in shape. Weight loss patch has been known and popular for people who are helpless in losing weight. Most of the products that we have seen in the television or in the advertisements have claimed that their products have been useful to a lot of people and it has helped them to achieve greater and faster results. The weight loss patch may sound a little tangy because the product is being entered inside your body and it reaches your bloodstream. With that in mind, you may think that it is possible to lose weight because the internal organs are the one activating the weight loss. The weight loss patch is supposed to work by placing it straightly in the skin and allowing it to be released; it will simply pass through the skin and right to your bloodstream. The result of using weight loss patch is that you will be less hungry and you will consume fewer calories. This is known to be a theory but it just does not end there. Although a lot of people have claimed that it is effective, some are not convinced about it. They think that it is just a way of getting the people to buy their products and making them believe that it is effective. When a person gets less hungry, he will surely lose weight but if it continues, I believe that it will not bring a good effect to the body and it might cause some side effects or abnormalities. A lot of people think that the weight loss patch are effective but they are not fully aware of the side effects. Some people who are using weight loss patch are aware of the side effects but they do not care at all. What matters to them is that they should lose weight and have a good body. No matter if we see the good side of the weight loss patch, we are not yet so sure if it is suitable for our body. If you know that, you are not that healthy, you should not take it and you should not take the risk because you do not know what will happen in the future. Of course, you would not want to set your life at risk or else you will lose everything. You can at least for once use weight loss patch and see if it has good results to your body. If you feel something not good, you can stop taking it and might as well try other natural options like weight loss hypnosis or weight loss programs. Now that you have learned a little information about the weight loss patch, you can start deciding for yourself whether you want to use it or try other options. You can consult a specialist or a dietician if you want to make sure that it is safe for use. This may help you lose weight but do not put all your trust to it because you never know if it will work for you and your body condition. Whatever the results may be, it will still depend on you and the weight loss patch that you have used. For more information and tips about weight loss. Visit us at http://www.WeightLossTipz.net. How Will Check 21 Affect You?

By Shannon Smith You may already be familiar with Check 21, a federal law that goes into effect on October 28, 2004. If you’re like me, this may be something you hadn’t heard about until just yesterday. The Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act, otherwise known as Check 21, is the process of turning the checks your write into images and transmitting them by computer. What does this mean to you? Expect the time your check clears to decrease drastically. If you live paycheck to paycheck and often count on a one or two day “grace period” to get funds into your account after paying bills, you’ll need to re-organize your budgeting process. Checks will clear in a matter of hours now, not days. You will no longer be getting your cancelled checks back with your bank statement. If you get anything at all, it will be a “substitute check” which is a certain kind of copy of your original check. You may be charged extra fees. It’s possible that by using this method, your check will be paid twice: once with the original and once with the scanned image. Or there may be an error made in the amount a check was written for in the process of turning an paper check into an electronic check. What you should do: Re-organize your budget. You have to make sure that you have the funds in your account to cover every check you write to avoid bouncing any checks. Request substitute checks. You will not be entitled to a credit to your account if an error has been made unless you have a substitute check. Balance your checkbook. If you are not in the habit of balancing your checkbook with your bank statement each month, you need to start. This will ensure that you’ll find any mistakes that may have been made. Learn more. Consumer’s Union did not support Check 21. Find out why and learn more about Check 21 HERE Shannon is the webmaster and owner of a website that offers premade scrapbook pages. Playing the Holiday Food Game

By Marjorie Geiser As the holidays come towards us, minds drift to the fear of weight gain and that fitness plans will fall by the wayside. Some people work hard to lose weight before the holidays, only to regain that weight, and add on MORE weight, once the holidays have passed. How are you going to avoid the dreaded five to 10 pound weight gain we all hear about? You need to plan your strategy just as if you were playing a game! So, sit down, read the recommendations below, and plan your own strategy today, before the holiday games begin! 1 Have a game plan. All successful teams and professionals have a plan. Why should controlling your weight at this time of the year be any different? So, as the parties and family events are also in the planning stage, determine how you are going to approach the obstacle course of high fat and high calorie goodies calling out to you? Determine how you are going to handle parties and the food provided. Plan your events ahead of time. Although there will be surprise invitations, most people know what they will be doing over the holidays. Avoid excessive parties. Make a plan for what you will prepare at home when not entertaining or visiting. Just because its the holiday season does not mean you have to eat holiday fare all season. Determine how you will keep your fitness routine intact. 2 Prepare for the party game. Ok, weve all heard these recommendations, but how many of you actually try them? If you use them all, great! Check out to see if there are any new ideas here or use them to remind yourself of some you may have forgotten. Eat before the event. If you are already full from healthy food, you are less likely to pig out on high calorie, empty carbohydrate, high fat snack foods that just add up in our mid-section. Wear something tight in the midsection. Tight clothes will help you tend to want to eat less, if for no other reason than its uncomfortable! Bring your own drinks and munchies. The more you are in control of what your choices are, the less likely you are to grab foods you really dont want to eat. Avoid the alcohol. Many people feel out of place if they dont have a drink in their hand. Try keeping your glass filled with ice and water! No one will know what youre drinking unless you tell them or they ask. In the meantime, you will be drinking calorie free. Concentrate on conversing more than eating. Stand clear of the food tables. The further you are from the food and goodies, the less likely you are to pick up and mindlessly eat them. Choose smaller portions. Even if a food or snack looks very good, to avoid feeling deprived, just have a smaller serving. 3 Plan your party strategy early. Whether you are the host/hostess or you are the guest, be selective about where you go and how many events you take part in. Attend the have to events. These are the events with family and close friends. The ones you enjoy the most (we hope). Then there are the business and work events. Watch out for the office parties, especially! Some you may have to at least make a showing to these, but nothing says you have to drink all the punch and be the last one out the door! Stick with your water and leave early for dinner at home. When you are the host/hostess, you have control over what the food will be. Choose foods you enjoy and are what you want to eat. Since so many other people are trying to watch what they eat, you may be surprised to find this a very popular choice! When you are the host/hostess, provide plenty of non-alcoholic beverages. People just want something in their hands, but many will also opt for no alcohol if its available. 4 Put your home game plan together. Just because its the holidays doesnt mean you have to eat as if youre at a party the entire season! In fact, because you will be socializing more at this time, this is even a better reason to eat as well as possible when home. Always plan ahead when going to a party or event that evening. This could include eating fewer calories throughout the day or cutting down on the fat. Avoid making desserts just for the family. There will be plenty to sample at events. Choose extra fruits and vegetables. This would be a perfect time to strive for 5 per day. Make a pact to eat healthier at home during this period than usual. It may even rub off to create habits that last past the holidays! If you receive a lot of candy, cookies or alcohol as gifts, give them to others as gifts, or bring them to work to share with others. 5 Determine your exercise plan of action. Many people strive all year to get a regular exercise program going, only to let it slide over the holidays. Then, once New Year comes, they again struggle to re-start a regular program. The best way to avoid this from happening year after year is to plan ahead for such things. Hire a personal trainer. Whether you find someone to come to your home or meet him/her at the gym, this could help keep you on track during the holiday season. Just that motivation alone might keep you going! If you have a stationary bike, elliptical trainer or treadmill at home, put it in front of the TV so you can watch either the news or your favorite show. Another option is to get a book on tape or audio files of seminars to listen to while working out. Because life is so busy during this time, you will be able to accomplish two things at once; exercise and enjoy some entertainment. While doing chores at home, put some music on and build up a sweat dancing. The holidays are a great time to enjoy friends and family. Many holiday events are centered around food and eating, and we are so busy that often our exercise routines fly out the window. Use these strategies to plan your course of action for the holidays. This could be a great time of the year to find help, such as a personal trainer, a Registered Dietitian or perhaps a life coach to help you stay focused and in control. Planning Your Wedding Rehearsal

By Dawn Arkin Every bride wants the perfect wedding; one to remember fondly all of her life. But even when planned to the smallest detail, your wedding party needs to practice what they are supposed to do. That is why you have a wedding rehearsal. A wedding rehearsal should be a relaxed practice of the wedding ceremony. It is a time for everyone involved to find out where they will stand, what they will do and when they will do it. It should not be a stressful event, but a chance for everyone to become better acquainted. Most brides have never planned a wedding rehearsal before and might have questions about doing so. Here are some questions you might have, and their answers. When is a wedding rehearsal held? Usually it is scheduled the day before, but if conflicts happen you can plan it for few days before, but no more than that. You want the participant’s tasks and cues fresh in their minds the day you take your vows. Who should be at the rehearsal? Everyone involved in your wedding ceremony should be there. This includes the parents of the bride and groom, the wedding party, and the officiant. This will not be a full ceremony, more of a walk through for the main event. Where should we have the wedding rehearsal? The best place to have it is in the location you plan to have the actual wedding. You want to be able to show the participants their exact locations, without them having to figure it out on the wedding day. If that is not possible, then a friend or family member’s backyard or another open space will work. Should you have a “dinner” after the rehearsal? Traditionally, the wedding party and parents of the happy couple meet for a celebration meal after practicing the ceremony. Since the rehearsal dinner is more relaxed, the bride and groom will have more time to spend with their family and friends. Who should be invited to the dinner? The guest list should include the parents of the bride and groom, the wedding party - including any spouses or significant others, and the parents of any children in the wedding party. You should also invite the officiant and his/her spouse to the dinner. Who should pay for the rehearsal dinner? In the past, the groom’s parents would pay for the rehearsal dinner, but today it can be hosted by anyone. Regardless who pays be sure they are involved in the decisions involving the dinner. Should I send out invitations? They are not necessary for this event, though giving the people you wish to be there a flyer with the time, date, and location along with directions would be helpful. Do we have to have the dinner at a fancy sit down restaurant? The dinner location can be anywhere you want it to be, from someone’s backyard to a fancy restaurant, and anywhere in between. You want to enjoy the time with your family and friends, so choose a location you are comfortable with. Can I hand out gifts during the rehearsal dinner? This is a wonderful time to give your attendant’s thank-you gifts. You will be more relaxed and can spend more time than during the reception, which will make the gift giving more special for everyone. A beautiful wedding day takes planning and preparation. It also takes practice, so everyone knows what they are supposed to do and when. A wedding rehearsal can help you and your wedding party has the practice they need to make your big day go smooth. Florida Chiropractic Schools

By Michael Bustamante If you are looking for Florida chiropractic schools, there are many schools that can help you get the education you need for an exciting and challenging career. You can find all the information you need to make an informed choice about chiropractic schools in Florida. First, it is important to understand that the practice of chiropractics is based on the belief that health is achieved naturally when quality food, water, exercise, and rest are supplied in sufficient quantities. Florida chiropractic schools hold to that philosophy as they train in this natural, drug-free, non-invasive approach to physical health. Chiropractic schools specialize in teaching several sciences, practical supplemental spinal and joint adjustment, and philosophies of natural health. They also teach applications of therapeutic exercise and nutrition to assist in promoting physical revitalization and wellbeing. The top Florida chiropractic schools teach a safe, effective, and cost-efficient approach to holistic health and wellness through chiropractics. Your chiropractic course will teach you how to gain accurate information from your clients, as well as diagnostic techniques and assessment for treatment, and provision of care that is appropriate to each client. You will learn how to determine client needs while considering the entire person, including stress, nutrition, working conditions, and exercise routines that affect individual conditions. Florida chiropractic schools offer extensive, practical, hands-on experience in making skeletal adjustments to correct alignment and to address issues of overall health of individual clients. The course of study usually requires classes in several sciences, X-ray assessment, orthopedics, and clinical skills, as well as an introduction to business. Upon graduation, you will be prepared for the many opportunities provided to the experienced chiropractor. Well-trained chiropractors can earn between $70,000 and $100,000 or more. Please note that if you plan to operate your own private practice in chiropractic medicine, you should take business courses beyond what you will receive in chiropractic school. It is reported that chiropractic practices sometimes fail to thrive because of a lack of preparation in this area. The Tradition of Reiki

By Eric Hartwell Reiki is a Japanese form of hands-on healing. It is a simple yet powerful way to channel and direct energy for various purposes chiefly healing and performing other energy work that works on all levels of the mind, body and spirit to transform and cure. Reiki is not just limited to humans but can be safely used on plants, animals; practically any living being can receive Reiki. In fact its positive effects are being tested on machines with surprising results. It is also very versatile and can be used for meditation, enhancing intuitive abilities and for personal growth and spiritual development. It is a tradition that was started by Dr. Mikao Usui when he was meditating on Mount Kuruama in Japan and after a 21 day fast and penance he was said to have achieved enlightenment which led him to use his wisdom for connecting to an endless source of Universal Spiritual Energy which was channeled and directed by him. However the real story of Reiki has traveled over time to many lands and has gained mythical proportions. Dr. Usui life has been a mystery and only recently has it been revealed outside of Japan, the original form of Reiki is also called Usui Reiki Ryoho. This art was bought to the West by Mrs. Hawayo Takata, from Hawaii, who was a student of Dr. Hayashi, who had a Reiki clinic in Tokyo and received Reiki Attunement from him.She had observed this science at work in Japan and was impressed wit the high success rate it had in curing illnesses. Reiki is a derivative of the Shinto religion but also combines the benefits from the traditional chakra system and Body Meridians from traditional Indian and Chinese Medicine and consists of many of the Hawaiian Ao system of energy centers in the body and aura.
