Who Are The People That Romance or Dating Scams Are Targeted At?

By Alan Prince Incidences of romance or dating scams have been on the rise since it came to public knowledge not too long ago.Yet,many people in the Western world are yet to grasp the reality of the fact that this scam seems to be on the increase.Perhaps, because most of the people who lose money to these scams do not talk about their losses. Many people prefer to bear the financial losses in silence, rather than disclose to any other party. On the other hand, in Nigeria and other places where the scammers operate from, large amounts of dollars are being received on a daily basis from the scams. In the third week of March, for instance, a 20 year old young man, just seeking admission into the university, scammed 5000 British Pounds from a middle aged woman in the United Kingdom. He is not the only one collecting such amounts from dating or romance scams.Daily,in thousands of cafes all over Nigeria, especially the SouthWest, and other West African countries, tens of thousands of young people are actively working at the scams, looking for such victims. But then, the question arises –whom do the scammers target for their activities? Do they just pick on anyone anywhere, or do they have a particular set of people that they focus on to defraud them of their money? From what I could gather in my research, here are the main types of people that the scams are focused on : 1. Elderly people and other lonely groups: Elderly women and men looking for companionship are believed to be especially vulnerable to the scams. They are believed to be soft at heart, and willing to part with their money in return for romantic affection and attention. Other lonely groups of people are also a prime target. Their loneliness makes them to be in need of some form of company, which may not be readily available around them in their immediate environment and which the scammers readily provide. 2.Separated women, recently divorced women and the like are easy targets of the scammers. The trauma of their divorce or separation makes them vulnerable to online scams. The scammers hunt on various dating sites for women like these. 3.Overweight people:these set of people are about the easiest to target and to scam, according to the scammers. It appears some overweight people need someone to admire them and to love them the way they are. And it also appears that a number of them are insecure emotionally. And it appears that as a result of this, some overweight women seem to do anything to hold on to a man, even if they do not know if he is for real. It appears that it is their sense of insecurity and their need for acceptance that is often exploited to get money of them. 4.People Looking For Sex: Many adult websites are a special target of the scammers. The scammers show nude pictures of themselves and engage in sexual acts with the persons they meet on the site. Usually, the people scammed through adult sites never disclose that they were scammed or they keep their losses to themselves. All those interviewed and who lost money to scams through this means declined to give figures of how much they were scammed of People living with AIDS, and differently-abled people are also a target of the scams. This is by no means an exhaustive list of those being targetted by the scams. These happen to be the most popular ones that the scammers target. The best way to deal with the dating or romance scams is to know how the scammers operate and be wise as to their ways. Educating yourself about these scams helps you to know how to prevent it from happening to you. Alan Prince is an expert on the subject of romance and dating scams. He literally spent hundreds of hours interacting with both the scammers and their victims in the course of this research. His findings are available for you to read at http://www.elovedeceptions.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Alan_Prince http://EzineArticles.com/?Who-Are-The-People-That-Romance-or-Dating-Scams-Are-Targeted-At?&id=172431 phentermine without prescription cod phentermine online orders phentermine online without a perscription phentermine diet pills without a prescription

The 411 On Honeybee Reproductive Swarming - What Is It? And What To Do

By D Heil Bees Are Important When honeybees collect nectar from flowers, they are also providing an important service to agriculture. Honeybees have hairs on their bodies, which pollen grains adhere to when the bee lands on a flower. At the next flower, pollen detaches, and more new pollen adheres to the bee. This exchange of pollen between flowers is how pollination happens in the plant world. Pollination is vital to agriculture. 33% of our food comes from plants that depend on pollination. Almonds, for example, depend almost exclusively upon the honeybee for pollination that results in the nuts we eat. Swarming Swarming is how honey bee colonies reproduce. In the process two (or three, or four) colonies are created in place of the original swarming colony. New honey bee colonies are formed when a queen bee senses that the hive is becoming overcrowded (a sign of past success of that colony). The queen decides to leaves the colony and will take approximately half the worker bees with her, in a “swarm”. The first swarm is called the prime swarm. This prime swarm includes the old queen who will have been laying eggs for the colony for the prior 1-3 seasons. Swarming usually happens in the spring. However, swarms can happen at any point during the producing season and are triggered by conditions inside the hive. Meanwhile, back in the old hive, the remaining bees will sense the loss of the queen by “smelling” the absence of her queen pheremones. This absence will trigger the bees to raise a new queen by feeding a number very young larvae royal jelly. Though there is generally only one queen in a hive at any given time, the bees will try to raise more than one queen for redundancy and to ensure that at least one survives. The first queen to emerge from her cell will seek out and kill the other queens before they can emerge. Sometimes, a successful hive will cast off a succession of swarms one after the other. The bees that departed in the swarm will seek out a branch or other outcropping while they look for a new home. Swarms are usually not aggressive at this stage of their life cycle. The swarm is more interested in finding a new nesting spot. This does not mean that bee swarms will not attack if they perceive a threat; however, most bees only attack in response to intrusions against their hive, and swarming bees have no hive. During this time, the swarm will send out scout bees to look for a suitable location for a new hive. They will seek close places first, so you will see them buzzing around the eaves of your house, looking for a damaged soffit vent cover that will allow them to build a new home in your roof. You do not want bees nesting in your roof or walls. If you have them in the structure of your house, and they have been there for more than a few weeks, you should remove the comb from the structure. Beekeepers can “cut out” the hive from the wall and remove the comb. Beekeepers will charge for this service, as it is difficult for everyone involved. If you do not remove the comb and instead just kill the bees with pesticide or seal up the egress, the dead bees and honey and wax will become a food source for rodents and vermin. Exterminators wont tell you this because customers with inexplicable vermin problems keep them in business. If you have a swarm on your property, you should contact a local beekeeper to effect its removal. Many beekeepers will perform this service for a very nominal fee. If you call a beekeeper: - you avoid use of dangerous pesticides; - you get rid of your bees; and - the beekeeper gains a potential new colony with which to produce honey and nuts and the foods we all enjoy Author is a fourth generation beekeeper who is an advocate for apiculture and its important role in the safeguarding of our food supply. 15 Rules For Fat Loss

By Jayson Hunter 1. Eat 4-6 small meals day a day instead of the usual 2-3 large meals. Eating frequently will help regulate and boost your metabolism to burn more calories. 2. Consume whole foods that are high in fiber and low in sugar such as lean protein (lean beef, chicken, fish, and whey protein), fruits & vegetables (oranges, apples, strawberries, blueberries, broccoli, peppers, asparagus, carrots, nuts (almonds, cashews, & walnuts), and whole grains. 3. Eat low-glycemic carbohydrates such as vegetables, whole-wheat products and oatmeal instead of refined processed carbohydrates which usually come in a box or a bag. 4. Recommend consuming 25-35 grams of fiber per day. Since the average diet contains only 14 grams we could all use more fiber. Fiber will help satisfy hunger pangs as well as control insulin and blood sugar levels which tend to promote fat storage when they are elevated. 5. Eat some type of lean protein at each meal. Protein helps to satisfy hunger and provide the necessary building blocks to maintain lean body mass while losing body fat. 6. Consume adequate amounts of healthy fat foods such as olive oil, walnuts, almonds, Omega-3 fortified eggs or other Omega-3 products. Healthy fats are great antioxidants as well as help with brain function and many other essentials processes that take place in the body on a daily basis. Essential Fatty acids also help prevent certain diseases. 7. Recommend eating 5-10 servings of fruit and vegetables a day to meet your micronutrient needs. Vegetables also contain a good amount of fiber and help to control appetites and curb hunger. 8. Consume Green Tea or Water instead of calorie filled drinks such as soft drinks. Green Tea has many health benefits and should be drinking 1ml of non-caffeinated fluid for every calorie that you consume. This works out between (8-12) 8oz glasses of Green Tea or Water a day. 9. Balance your fat intake for the day. 1/3 should come from saturated fats, 1/3 from monounsaturated fats, and 1/3 from polyunsaturated fats. 10. If you want to start building habits then you need to follow a plan. Habits are formed by repetitively following a prescribed plan. Therefore map out your meals every day and follow them. If you follow your plan everyday for 2-3 weeks you will form habits that become part of your daily routine and you wont even notice it. How do you think bad habits are formed? By repetitively doing something over and over again. 11. Include what I call Superfoods into your meal plan on a daily basis. These include but not entirely lean meat, salmon, low fat plain yogurt, tomatoes, spinach, mixed berries, whole oats, mixed nuts, olive oil, flax seeds(or flax meal), green tea, and various beans. These are just some of the Superfoods who should be incorporating into your daily meal plans. 12. Keep total fat intake under 30% for the day. This can be accomplished by not adding too many extra fats such as butter, sour cream, mayonnaise, etc. This doesnt mean you have to completely eliminate these items, but do not eat them as a regular food item every day. 13. EXERCISE!! You can lose weight by just following a nutrition plan on its own but very few succeed at it and it takes much longer than when you eat properly as well as exercise. I am not talking about just getting on a treadmill for 30 minutes every other day. Though you can lose weight this way it is not the most efficient use of your time nor maximizing the ability to burn calories. The most effective way to lose fat is by strength training or some type of interval training utilizing strength training and cardiovascular exercises. A properly designed program can burn more overall calories in 20 minutes than 20 minutes on a treadmill. Also, the X factor in all this is that you will burn more calories per minute hours after you finished strength training because of the EPOC effect. Static exercise on a treadmill doesnt produce this X factor. 14. Record what you eat and drink. You will be amazed at what you consume and not even realize you did it until you right it down and reflect back on the day. Keeping a food log is critical to your success because if modifications need to be made you need something to be able to evaluate and analyze. If changes arent happening like you had hoped the answer can usually be found in the food and or exercise journal. 15. Follow the 90% rule. If you can follow your plan 90% of the time then that is enough to have success with weight loss. If you find yourself breaking the rules more than 90% of the time then the chance of being successful with weight loss is not as likely. Your chances of failing increase significantly. Lose the all or nothing attitude and just take one day at a time. Reflect on your day before you go to bed at night and instead of getting down on yourself because you werent perfect just set goals to accomplish next day that would eliminate those errors. Choosing Your Wedding Date

By Yolanda Nash Well, youve done it. Youve gotten engaged and now the real fun starts. Planning a wedding should be done around a few key factors: the church/temple/or other location of ceremony and the location of the reception. Once these key factors have been decided, everything will begin to fall into place. The location of the ceremony and the location of the reception are two decision makers as to what day the marriage ceremony will happen on. If you want a spring/summer wedding, know that these are very popular times of the year to get married; therefore booking your chosen location on your chosen date may not be as easy as you think. Really any time from about May through October is more popular months, but the peak is generally between May and June. Wedding bookings tend to fill up at least a year before the scheduled events. If you are willing to or had already counted on at least a year before the actual event, it will not be as difficult to book your locations, but it is not something you should wait on either. Once you have decided where youd like the ceremony to take place and have at least some ideas where youd like the reception to take place, it is time to start calling around. Call to find out what dates are available in the time period in which youd like to get married. Hopefully, the availability will be the same for your ceremony location and reception preference. If this is the case wonderful, book it without delay. If youre a little more particular about the date, be ready to shop around. Unless you are calling well in advance of the date, at least a year, possibly two, be prepared for disappointment. The location that youve chosen may already be booked by someone else. Its hard to believe, I know, but there are other brides out there with the same agenda as you. If youre absolutely set to a date, you may have to compromise on the location of the ceremony and/or reception. Be wary of reception locations that add into their contract that a fee per dish may changed in a certain time period. Thats their way of letting you know that prices may, and often will, go up before your event so that the price youre being quoted now may not be the price you receive on the day of the event. There are plenty of restaurants or halls that you can choose to hold your reception in and you want to be sure that the one you choose gives you the price they are quoting whether the ceremony is 12 months or 24 months into the future. If a reception hall is pressuring you by saying that they dont know if they can hold the space or pressuring you by having only your day available and dont know how long that day will stay open, they are not worth your time. With three major decisions knocked out, ceremony, reception, and date, you are well on your way to planning a beautiful event. This is an exciting time in your life and the planning process should also be exciting, not stressful. Once these important decisions have been made you can put your feet up and rest for a little while anyway, the rest should go quite smoothly. Yolanda is the owner of Yolandas Wedding Favors. Speed Dating Make Sure You Clean Your Teeth!

By Paul Benbow Speed dating want a successful evening? Be warned, 3 out of 5 UK men & women say stained, grotty teeth are a complete turn-off! New research shows that singletons are flocking to speed dating events across the globe in their quest to find Mr or Ms right. Yet, they may be forgetting that small but crucial things like a clean white smile are ruining their chances of making the right impression on the night with the opposite sex! In a world where everyone wishes for a 25th hour, speed dating has become one of the hottest ways to meet that very special person in just one night. With this in mind, Smart Dating UK has commissioned new research to discover just how important white teeth and a bright smile can be when creating a first impression. The report shows that over 60% of speed daters said that they wouldn’t give a person with stained or yellow teeth the time of day, and 70% are first attracted to someone by their smile. With speed dating allowing just three short minutes to create a lasting impression, Tracey Cox, TV’s dating expert reveals her top tips’ on how to make a get noticed when it counts: Step 1. Double up on the smiles: Smiling is contagious and it’s the quickest, most subtle way to show interest without looking desperate. Greet them with a broad, friendly grin, which shows all your teeth. Step 2. Look at their mouth loads: The more we’re attracted to someone, the more time we spend looking at their mouth. It’s a very, very sexy gesture because the person can’t help but think I wonder if they’re imagining what it would be like to kiss me? Step 3. Put a pen in your mouth or stroke your lips: If you’ve got great teeth, you’re effectively pointing to one of your best assets. Plus you’re sending a pseudo sexual signal because mouths are an erotic zone. Step 4. Use the killer threesome: Combine a smile, leaning forward and a touch and you’ve sent the clearest signal you find them attractive. What’s more, the speed dating research shows that a smile wins first time, every time with 1 in 3 people in the UK claiming that they judge a person by their smile. Catherine Zeta Jones’ pearly whites were voted the most perfect smile’ by over a third of women, but lets face it she pays a small fortune for those dazzlers. Yet, looking after our teeth doesn’t have to cost the earth, Dr Julian Chen, (the man who knows teeth - Dental Consultant) advises: We all know that coffee and red wine are two of the worst culprits for causing stained teeth. However, by attempting to include alternatives like white wine or herbal tea means we don’t have to live in complete abstinence from our creature comforts. There are also quick and easy ways to reverse teeth staining the professional way or now via teeth whitening products available over the counter. Don’t forget, white teeth and a bright smile are just as important in an interview situation. 1 in 10 people in the UK would think twice about employing someone with stained teeth, so maximising your smile not only helps you land Mr or Ms Right, but also the career you’re chasing, because after all creating the right first impression counts in all situations. Happy speed dating! Paul Benbow writes for Smart Dating UK, a UK speed dating company focused on creating friendly and relaxed dating parties. Match guaranteed, or free entry offered to next event. Bed Bugs-How to Bite Back!

By Rosemary Horner Have you experienced bed bugs in your home and feel defeated? Do you know anyone else who has been attacked by them and they are perplexed not knowing what to do? You do not have to give in to their infestation. Fight back! Do not be paralyzed by the many perceptions people have about someone experiencing this problem. After all problems will always be with us. But every problem has a life span. If we approach this problem with a battle mentality we can win the war. Here are 10 things you can do to bite back! 1. Throw away all bedding where you saw the little critters. Do not waste time trying to treat mattresses, pillows, etc. They hide to well in the crevices of the pillow and mattresses. BE CAREFUL TO ALSO TREAT THE PATH YOU TOOK WHEN YOU TOSSED THE ITEMS. 2. Carefully wash and spray the entire area. The spray should be a special preparation that will kill the bed bugs. You can do a search on the internet or visit an extermination store. 3. If you can afford it, have a professional skilled in fighting bed bugs to treat the entire house or apartment. 4. If you are in an apartment complex be sure to get all the neighbors to agree to have their home treated at the same time. 5. Carefully wash all clothes, including the ones you are wearing during your battle, in hot water and detergent. 6. Mentally, tells your self, they will not win this battle. You are bigger and wiser. 7. Ask for advice. You will be surprised at who has also experienced this problem but did not talk about it Do not get caught up in the negative What will my neighbors think of me pity party. It is time for action not atrophy. 8. If a family member, who had the infestation, is a senior with poor vision do not rely upon them to give you a status report on new occurrences. You must examine every area on a periodic basis. 9. If you replace the mattress be sure to keep it covered with plastic for several days after the treatment to discourage further attacks to the mattress. 10. Stay hopeful, stay alert and stay focused. The battle can be won! There is one final note. Often, there will be a good side to a problem. In this case if you have to throw out a lot of stuff that you have been keeping for much too long you will be energetically motivated.. College Search Help - Find the Right College for You

By Eugena Anthony If you are involved in the college search process then you probably know just how frustrating it can be searching through the thousands of schools that are available. There are several criteria that you should consider before you apply to any college or university. It is important to research and decide on a college major. The whole purpose of a college education is to prepare you for your future career. Choosing a career will help you narrow down your college choices since every school offers a different choice of majors and course selections. You may even find that some colleges and universities specialize in your particular area of interest. There are many characteristics of college campuses that may or may not appeal to you. You might prefer to attend a university in an urban, suburban, or rural setting. A decision can also be made on going to a school in state, out of state, or even studying abroad. Some people may want to explore the option of attending a historically black college, single sex school, or a faith-based university. If you are planning to live on the campus of the school that you will attend, then you need to explore your housing options. Check to see if the dorms are mixed or single sex. Find out if the dorms have private, shared, or community bathrooms. Some schools only have on-campus housing for freshman so you may need to look into the availability of nearby apartments. You could use the admissions requirements of the colleges and universities that you consider to help further narrow your choices. You should choose a couple of schools in which you more than meet the qualifications and requirements. Also consider schools that you believe could accept you and even a school or two that you feel is beyond your reach because they could say yes to you. Figure out how you will finance your education and if the tuition cost is feasible. Search out scholarships and education grants. Decide if you could or even should take on a job while going to school. If you need to take out student loans make sure that the amount you borrow is worth the education that you will receive. You don’t want to graduate and have to pay off $100,000 or more in loans with a $25,000 a year career. You should take a tour of each of your college choices. Try to sit in on a class if possible. If you plan to live on-campus you should stay in (or at least visit) a dorm and eat in the cafeteria. Tour the library, computer labs, student center, bookstore and other campus facilities. Ask if you can talk to a couple of students to get their view on attending the school. After fully researching all of these criteria you should discuss your choices with a parent, spouse, or someone else whose opinion you trust. You should apply to at least five schools or more to increase the chance that you get into at least one school. There are fees for each application that you submit. If you have financial need then you may qualify for fee waivers though every school does not accept them. These steps do not ensure that you will find the perfect school. They should however aid you in your college search and help you make a more informed decision. Eugena Anthony created College Search Engines and More to help prospective college students with the college search process. Doctor Stop Losing Money - 6 Ways To Stop The Bleeding

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Michele_Redmond] Michele Redmond Are you one of those doctors who thinks that if you want more money you need to see more patients? The reality is that you just need to get paid for ALL of the patients that you are already seeing. Many doctors make the mistake of only watching what comes in and not what is going out. They look at the bottom line, and if the bottom line is not high enough, then they figure they need to see more patients. What they really need to look at is how much of what is going out is coming back in. It isnt possible to collect 100% of what you bill out, but you should be collecting 95% or better. (Im not talking about contractual adjustments. Im talking about the amounts that you are legally entitled to collect.) The following are some of the most common ways that doctors offices lose money and what you can do to stop it from happening in your office: 1. According to a local insurance company, the number one way that doctors lose money is by not collecting copays, co-insurance, and/or deductibles. These are the amounts that are due directly from the patients. If you do not have a good system in place for billing your patients, then you are probably losing more money than you realize. First of all, copays SHOULD BE collected at the time of service. If a patient cannot pay the copay at the time of service, (or they forget their checkbook, etc.) then your staff should give them a pre-addressed envelope when they leave so that they can mail it in when they get home. If you dont receive the copay within 10 days, the patient should be billed. Co-insurance and deductibles usually cannot be billed until the EOB is received from the insurance company since the amount varies. As soon as the EOB is received a bill should be sent out to the patient with an explanation as to what the bill is for. Bottom line, patients with balances need to be billed regularly. If they do not respond to the bills, appropriate action needs to be taken. 2. The number two way in which doctors lose money is due to non-covered services. The services may be non-covered because they are a contract exclusion, or they may be non-covered due to the way that they were billed. In any case, if the insurance doesnt pay, many times the doctor ends up writing off the charges. One way to cut down on denials for non-covered services is to make sure that you have experienced people in charge of your billing. If you have an experienced biller it will cut down on incorrect denials due to billing errors. If it is a true contract exclusion then the patient should be notified prior to the services being performed so that they can arrange for payment. The biller should know before the services are submitted that the insurance company does not cover them. 3. The third top reason for doctors losing money is due to sloppy bookkeeping. Yet another reason to make sure you have not only experienced but loyal people in charge of your billing. It is amazing how much money doctors lose due to the negligence and inexperience of the people that they put in charge of their money. There are many ways that sloppy bookkeeping can cause money loss. One is from claims just not being submitted. The doctor does the work of seeing the patient, but never gets paid because his staff doesnt submit the claim. Many doctors think that this cant happen to them but in reality they just would never know if it did. Another example of sloppy bookkeeping is incorrect patient information on file. If you dont have the correct personal information or insurance information, the patients claim can be denied. In many offices denials are not handled so if the claim isnt paid the first time around, the doctor loses out. 4. The fourth reason is due to lack of proper follow up. The sad truth is most doctors offices do very little, if any, follow up. All unpaid claims should be followed up on at least every 30 days. Just submitting the claims to the insurance companies is not enough. For whatever reason, a certain percentage of claims will go unpaid unless they are followed up on. Many times claims are denied for improper reasons and a phone call needs to be made to get the issue resolved. If these calls are not made, the doctor does not get paid for their service. Proper and thorough follow up is a necessity. 5. The fifth reason for doctors losing money is employee theft. Doctors never want to believe that someone on their staff would ever steal from them, but unfortunately it happens in the majority of doctors offices. It is great if you feel that you can trust everyone in your office, but it is even better if you have systems in place that make theft nearly impossible in the first place. Make everyone accountable for any money that passes thru their hands. 6. The sixth top reason for doctors losing money is due to under-coding, and/or coding errors. It is important to have someone who understands all of the ins and outs of coding. Doctors have to be careful when submitting claims to insurance companies that they code everything accurately. It would not be good to submit claims with codes that do not reflect the services actually performed to the patient. But sometimes coders can be so concerned about over coding, that they actually tend to under code EVERYTHING. This can result in a huge dollar loss for the doctor. A doctor also wants to make sure that the coder understands which diagnoses apply to which procedures were performed. Many insurance companies only cover certain procedures when certain diagnosis codes are linked to them. So, if you are a doctor who thinks you need to be seeing more patients, you may want to consider if any of these top six reasons doctors lose money listed above may apply to your office. You may be able to raise your bottom line considerably on the patients you are already seeing. Michele Redmond is co-owner of Solutions Medical Billing and has been in business since 1994. Prenuptial Agreements

By Johnette Duff “Til death do us part” is still the language used in most weddings. Couples enter marriage with the hope of making a lifetime commitment. If this goal is not reached or if a spouse dies, the desire to be a couple is so ingrained that most will marry again. The inability of the marriage laws to meet the needs of many couples makes the concept of a marital agreement quite positive, despite the bad publicity premarital agreements have reached. The freedom to structure a relationship should not be determined by laws that do not reflect the changing realities of family life in American today. There is no firm tradition of marital contracts in our country because of the inherent resistance of comparing love to a business deal. Many civilized societies through the ages, however, have documented marital agreements with written documents. Celebrities and the media have made couples aware of the concept of a contract executed between a married couple, whether terming it a premarital, prenuptial, antenuptial or postmarital agreement. The rich have known about them for years, but middle-class America, alarmed about the rising divorce rate, is anxious to know more. Who Needs Them? Anyone about to enter a marriage who is concerned about the inadequacies of the laws in the face of today’s social realities; Anyone who is remarrying; Anyone concerned about protecting the assets of children from a prior marriage; Anyone who has a financially dependent parent; Business owners, particularly of professional practices and particularly those with business partners, because a spouse effectively becomes a silent partner in the business; Anyone with significant separate property in states where a spouse is entitled to a share of income from separate property. Anyone whose intended spouse has significant premarital responsibilities, such as alimony, child support, or tax obligations. Anyone cautious enough to prefer a written record of the ownership of assets to avoid confusion in the future from creditors or other family members. It’s not romantic; it’s practical. And limiting a spouse’s take upon divorce is far from the only purpose, despite the perception gleaned from the popular press. Doesn’t it make sense to make decisions under the best of circumstances instead of during the emotional upheaval of a troubled relationship? As with most things, there’s good news and bad news about private marital contracts. The openness needed for such an agreement is good for a relationship; the implication of a lack of trust is bad. A marital contract can avoid expensive and emotionally debilitating divorce trials, but it’s expensive to enforce any contract in court. Such an agreement will reduce to writing the agreement for division of property upon divorce, although it can prevent a spouse from obtaining marital rights upon divorce.
